Techniques, data processing, and applications of remote sensing in environmental and urban contexts revolve around how satellite and aerial imagery is captured, transformed into usable information, and applied to real-world challenges. Remote sensing techniques include multispectral and hyperspectral imaging, LiDAR, and radar systems, which collect data across different wavelengths and dimensions. Once acquired, the data undergoes processing steps such as image correction, classification, and feature extraction to ensure accuracy and usability. These processed datasets are then applied in environmental monitoring to track deforestation, water quality, and climate change impacts, and in urban planning to analyze land use, infrastructure growth, and population density. By integrating advanced techniques with robust data analysis, remote sensing provides powerful insights that support sustainable development and informed decision-making in both natural and built environments.
