The course Catalytic Role of Organometallic Compounds explores how organometallic compounds are used as catalysts in important chemical and industrial reactions. It covers the principles of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, catalytic reaction mechanisms, and the role of transition metal complexes in processes such as hydrogenation, polymerization, hydroformylation, and carbon–carbon bond formation. Students gain an understanding of catalyst design, efficiency, selectivity, and the industrial applications of organometallic catalysts in pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and materials science.
This lecture is part of CHM 423 Organometallic chemistry in the Chemistry department. The course has 22 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
