This course introduces the classification of organometallic compounds and ligands based on their structure, bonding, and reactivity. Students will study different types of organometallic compounds, including sigma- and pi-bonded complexes, as well as the roles of ligands such as alkyls, alkenes, carbonyls, and cyclopentadienyl groups. The course also explores ligand properties, coordination behavior, electron donation, and the importance of organometallic compounds in catalysis, synthesis, and industrial applications
This lecture is part of CHM 423 Organometallic chemistry in the Chemistry department. The course has 22 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
