he course Electron Rule and Bonding Chemistry of Ferrocene introduces the application of electron counting rules in organometallic chemistry, with special emphasis on ferrocene and related sandwich compounds. It explores the 18-electron rule, metal–ligand bonding, structure, stability, aromaticity, and reactivity of ferrocene. Students will also study molecular orbital concepts, bonding interactions between transition metals and cyclopentadienyl ligands, and the importance of ferrocene in catalysis, materials science, and industrial chemistry
This lecture is part of CHM 423 Organometallic chemistry in the Chemistry department. The course has 22 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
