The course Synthetic Utility and Transition Element Organometallics focuses on the applications of transition metal organometallic compounds in modern chemical synthesis. It explores the preparation, structure, bonding, and reactivity of organometallic complexes containing transition metals, as well as their important roles in catalytic processes such as hydrogenation, polymerization, carbon–carbon bond formation, and industrial chemical production. The course also highlights how these compounds are used in pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and advanced material synthesis.
This lecture is part of CHM 423 Organometallic chemistry in the Chemistry department. The course has 22 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
