Semiconductors and electronic devices form the backbone of modern technology, enabling the operation of everything from smartphones and computers to communication systems and industrial machinery. Semiconductors are materials, such as silicon and germanium, whose electrical conductivity lies between that of conductors and insulators, making them ideal for controlling electrical current. By manipulating their properties through doping and fabrication processes, engineers create essential components like diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits. These devices are used to amplify signals, switch electrical currents, and process data efficiently, forming the building blocks of electronic systems that power today’s digital world.
