Levelling and Tachometry Methods are important surveying techniques used to determine elevations, distances, and the relative positions of points on the Earth's surface. Levelling is the process of measuring height differences between points to establish elevations and create accurate profiles for engineering projects such as roads, railways, canals, and buildings. Tachometry, also known as tacheometry, is a rapid surveying method that uses a tacheometer to measure horizontal distances and elevations indirectly without the need for direct distance measurements. These methods are widely applied in topographic mapping, route surveys, construction layout, and land development projects. Understanding levelling and tachometry enables surveyors and engineers to collect accurate field data efficiently, supporting the planning, design, and execution of engineering and infrastructure projects.
