Introduction to Cybersecurity and Cyberspace
Cybersecurity and cyberspace are deeply interconnected concepts that shape the modern digital world. Cyberspace refers to the vast, interconnected environment created by computer networks, the internet, and digital communication systems where information is stored, shared, and exchanged globally. Within this space, cybersecurity plays a critical role as the practice of protecting systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It encompasses strategies, technologies, and policies designed to safeguard digital assets against threats such as hacking, malware, phishing, and cyberterrorism. As individuals, businesses, and governments increasingly rely on cyberspace for communication, commerce, and governance, cybersecurity has become essential to ensure privacy, trust, and resilience in the digital age. Together, these concepts highlight both the opportunities and challenges of living in a connected world, where security is the foundation of safe digital interaction.
