Tropical weather systems and disturbances refer to the dynamic atmospheric phenomena that occur in tropical regions, driven largely by intense solar heating and moisture availability. These systems include large-scale circulations like the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which produces heavy rainfall, as well as smaller but powerful disturbances such as tropical depressions, storms, and cyclones. Disturbances often arise from instabilities in the atmosphere, where warm ocean waters fuel convection and low-pressure systems, sometimes intensifying into destructive hurricanes or typhoons. They play a critical role in redistributing heat and moisture across the globe, but also pose significant risks to human populations through flooding, strong winds, and coastal damage.
