EHS 218: Engineering Graphics is designed to provide students with the fundamental principles and techniques of technical drawing and graphical communication used in engineering and related fields. The course emphasizes the development of visualization skills, accurate drafting techniques, and the interpretation of engineering drawings.
Students are introduced to drawing instruments, lettering, dimensioning, scales, geometric constructions, orthographic projections, isometric drawings, sectional views, and projection theory. The course also explores the preparation and reading of engineering drawings in accordance with accepted standards and conventions.
Through practical exercises and assignments, students develop the ability to represent engineering components and structures graphically, communicate design ideas effectively, and apply engineering graphics principles to real-world engineering and technological problems.
This lecture is part of ESH 218 Introduction to Engineering Drawing & Design in the Environmental Health Science department. The course has 29 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
