This course introduces the principles of projection theory and the techniques used in multi-view drawing for engineering, architectural, and technical communication. Students learn how three-dimensional objects are represented accurately on two-dimensional drawing surfaces through orthographic projection methods.
The course covers the fundamentals of projection systems, planes of projection, first-angle and third-angle projection, visualization of objects, and the preparation and interpretation of front, top, and side views. Emphasis is placed on developing spatial reasoning skills, drawing accuracy, and the ability to communicate technical designs effectively.
This lecture is part of ESH 218 Introduction to Engineering Drawing & Design in the Environmental Health Science department. The course has 29 recorded lectures across 11 series, all free to watch.
