Boundary Layer Theory and Aerodynamic Forces focuses on understanding how fluids, such as air, behave when flowing over a surface and how this interaction generates forces on objects. The boundary layer is the thin region of fluid near a surface where the effects of viscosity are significant, causing the fluid velocity to change from zero at the surface to the free-stream velocity away from it. The behavior of the boundary layer influences important aerodynamic forces such as lift, drag, and moments acting on bodies like aircraft wings, vehicles, and turbine blades. By studying boundary layer development, flow separation, and aerodynamic forces, engineers can design more efficient and stable systems, improve performance, reduce energy losses, and enhance safety in aerospace, automotive, and other fluid-flow applications.
