Logical and Critical Reasoning explores the principles and processes of sound thinking, argument analysis, and decision-making used to evaluate information objectively and systematically. It examines the nature of logical reasoning, including deductive and inductive arguments, the identification of assumptions, evidence, and conclusions, as well as the detection of fallacies, biases, and inconsistencies in reasoning. The topic emphasizes the development of analytical and evaluative skills that enable individuals to assess claims, solve problems, make informed judgments, and communicate effectively in academic, professional, and everyday contexts. Course objectives include enabling learners to understand the fundamentals of logical and critical reasoning, identify and evaluate arguments and evidence, recognize common logical fallacies and cognitive biases, and develop the ability to think critically, solve problems effectively, and make rational decisions based on sound reasoning.
