This course introduces participants to the fundamental concepts, principles, and theories of democratisation. It explores the meaning of democracy, the processes through which societies transition to democratic governance, and the key political, social, and economic factors that influence democratic development. Participants will examine major theoretical perspectives and gain a foundational understanding of democratic institutions, governance, and citizen participation in contemporary societies.
