This course introduces the various platforms and sensor technologies used in remote sensing for acquiring information about the Earth's surface. It covers ground-based, airborne, and satellite platforms, as well as the principles, types, and characteristics of remote sensing sensors. Students learn how sensors detect and record electromagnetic energy, the differences between active and passive sensors, and the applications of modern sensor technologies in environmental monitoring, resource management, urban planning, and geographic information systems (GIS)
