This course introduces the fundamental physical principles underlying remote sensing, with emphasis on the nature and behavior of electromagnetic radiation. It examines the electromagnetic spectrum, energy interactions with the atmosphere and Earth's surface, and the characteristics of different spectral bands used in data acquisition. Students gain an understanding of how remote sensing sensors detect and measure reflected, emitted, and scattered energy for environmental monitoring and spatial analysis
This lecture is part of URP 206 Introduction to Remote Sensing in the Environmental Health Science department. The course has 11 recorded lectures across 5 series, all free to watch. Read or download the URP 206 lecture note to study alongside the video.
