Applications and Methods of Steganography involve both the practical uses of hidden communication and the techniques employed to achieve it. Steganography is widely applied in digital security, where sensitive data is concealed within images, audio, or video files to prevent detection during transmission. It is also used in intellectual property protection, embedding copyright information or watermarks invisibly to safeguard ownership. In covert communication, steganography enables secret exchange of information without raising suspicion. The methods vary from least significant bit (LSB) insertion, which hides data in the minor details of digital files, to spread spectrum techniques, which distribute hidden information across a wide frequency range, making it harder to detect. More advanced approaches include masking and filtering and transform domain methods, which embed data in compressed or frequency-transformed formats. Together, these applications and methods make steganography a powerful tool for secure, covert, and resilient information protection.
