Types of models in simulation refer to the different ways real-world systems are represented for analysis, prediction, and decision-making. These models are broadly classified into physical models, which are tangible, scaled representations of systems (like a miniature bridge); mathematical models, which use equations and logical relationships to describe system behavior; and computer or simulation models, which are implemented using software to mimic complex processes over time. Simulation models can further be categorized as deterministic (producing the same outcome for a given input) or stochastic (incorporating randomness), as well as static (representing a system at a single point in time) or dynamic (showing system behavior over time). Each type serves a specific purpose, allowing researchers and decision-makers to study systems safely, efficiently, and at lower cost compared to real-life experimentation.
