Optimization Techniques and Mathematical Programming focuses on the use of mathematical models and analytical methods to determine the best possible solutions to organizational problems while making efficient use of limited resources. Optimization techniques are designed to maximize desired outcomes, such as profit, productivity, or service quality, or to minimize costs, time, and risks. Mathematical programming provides a structured framework for formulating and solving decision problems using mathematical equations, constraints, and objective functions. Common techniques include linear programming, integer programming, goal programming, dynamic programming, and nonlinear programming, which are widely applied in areas such as production planning, transportation, inventory management, scheduling, and resource allocation. Together, optimization techniques and mathematical programming enable organizations to make informed decisions, improve operational efficiency, enhance competitiveness, and achieve strategic objectives in a systematic and cost-effective manner.
