Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has awarded a comprehensive scholarship to Chiazo Umeaniba, a student of Maria Regina Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnewi, after her outstanding performance in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Umeaniba, who scored 344 in the UTME, received the scholarship award during the first anniversary celebration of Solution Fun City in Awka.
The governor announced the scholarship after watching the student, who is also the senior prefect of her school, participate in a dance performance at the event. He was later informed of her exceptional UTME result.
Soludo stated that the scholarship would cover her education from undergraduate studies up to the PhD level.
“Your education from undergraduate to PhD is on me. The bill is on me,” the governor said, adding that her academic achievement reminded him of his own experience as a student and senior prefect.
The governor expressed confidence that Umeaniba could achieve outstanding academic success, noting that her strong UTME performance demonstrated great potential.
He encouraged young students to pursue excellence and remain committed to their education, describing the scholarship as an investment in the future of talented Nigerian youths.
Umeaniba appreciated the governor for the opportunity, describing the scholarship as a major encouragement toward achieving her academic dreams.
Speaking further, Soludo highlighted the development of Solution Fun City as part of his administration’s efforts to promote tourism, investment and recreational opportunities in Anambra State.
He said the facility has become a major attraction for residents and visitors while contributing to the state’s economic growth.
The Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Solution Fun City, Chiamaka Nnake, described the project as a reflection of the governor’s vision for infrastructure development.
She revealed that the centre recorded thousands of visitors daily during peak periods, attracting people from within and outside Anambra State.
The scholarship award highlights the importance of recognising academic excellence and supporting outstanding students in achieving their educational goals.
