UNILAG Sets July 27 for Post-UTME, Warns Against Exam Malpractice.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has warned candidates for its 2026-2027 post-UTME Aptitude Test to steer clear of examination malpractice and strictly follow all guidelines, as the online test is set to run from July 27 to July 31 under remote proctoring. The warning was issued in a statement by the university's Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs Abosede Wickliffe. She stressed that candidates must comply fully with examination instructions, cautioning that any violations could lead to disqualification or other disciplinary action. According to Wickliffe, candidates are required to use laptops fitted with built-in webcams and microphones; mobile phones, tablets, external webcams, smart glasses and headphones are all barred from the test. She said candidates must sit the 30-minute exam alone, in a quiet and well-lit space, warning that speaking, reading questions aloud, or allowing anyone else into the room would be treated as misconduct. Candidates were also urged to secure stable internet and power throughout the test, with Wickliffe noting that the university bears no responsibility for disruptions caused by network failures, power outages or other issues outside its control. Anyone facing technical problems during the exam was advised to use the platform's "Need Help?" feature immediately. Wickliffe said a mock examination — available until July 25 — is compulsory for all candidates, as it checks device compatibility, internet connection, webcam function and overall readiness for the real test. She advised candidates to use the same laptop, internet connection and physical location for both the mock and actual exams, noting that the Safe Examination Browser only supports Windows 10 or later, and macOS Ventura or later. The registrar also cautioned candidates against dealing with unauthorised individuals, cybercafés, business centres or CBT centres falsely claiming affiliation with UNILAG, reiterating that the test will be conducted strictly online from a location of the candidate's choosing. She confirmed that the only approved fee for the screening exercise is ₦5,500 — made up of a ₦2,000 application fee and ₦3,500 administrative fee — and urged candidates to rely solely on the university's official website and verified channels for information. Wickliffe warned that any fraud, impersonation, unauthorised assistance or exam malpractice could result in the cancellation of applications or results, adding that all decisions relating to the conduct and outcome of the test would be final and binding.
