AAU Alumni Launch Global Fundraiser for Records Building Project.

The Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Alumni Association has launched a worldwide fundraising drive to complete its Examination and Records Building Project, aimed at speeding up transcript processing and improving access to academic records for graduates. Association President Dr Clifford Omozeghian announced the appeal in a statement released on Tuesday, following an interactive session with alumni members based in Canada. Omozeghian said the completed facility would make it significantly easier for graduates to obtain transcripts, certificates and other academic records needed for job applications, further studies and other professional opportunities. He noted that while the building will ultimately be handed over to the university, its main beneficiaries would be alumni who rely on timely access to their records. According to him, construction has reached the decking stage under his administration, but additional funding from graduates worldwide is still needed to bring the project to completion. "The project has come this far because of the commitment of our members. However, we need every graduate of Ambrose Alli University to play a role in bringing this vision to reality," he said. To encourage broader participation, Omozeghian unveiled four donation tiers: Diamond, for contributions of ₦101 million and above; Gold, for donations between ₦51 million and ₦100 million; Silver, covering ₦1 million to ₦50 million; and Bronze, for amounts between ₦100,000 and ₦999,999. He said every donor, regardless of the amount given, would have their name permanently recorded in the building's Hall of Fame, and commended those who have already contributed. He reminded all graduates of the university — including holders of PhDs, Master's degrees, Bachelor's degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Diplomas and Honorary Doctorates — that they are automatically members of the Alumni Association and encouraged them to treat the project as a shared responsibility. Donations, he said, should be channelled through the association's dedicated project account with Zenith Bank, with proof of payment forwarded for proper documentation. Omozeghian also commended Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for what he described as the governor's commitment to revitalising the university. As Visitor to the institution, he said, Okpebholo has shown strong resolve to restore the founding vision set by the late Prof. Ambrose Folorunsho Alli. He released photographs showing the current stage of construction and expressed confidence that continued support from alumni around the world would help see the project through to completion and eventual handover to the university.
