Challenges and Roles in Peace, Security, and Sustainable Development examines the contributions of governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders in promoting stable, peaceful, and prosperous societies while addressing obstacles that hinder progress. Peace and security are essential foundations for development, as they create an environment in which economic activities, social services, and governance can function effectively. However, challenges such as armed conflicts, terrorism, political instability, poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and humanitarian crises can threaten development efforts. Through conflict prevention, peacekeeping, humanitarian assistance, policy support, and development programs, national and international actors play vital roles in fostering social cohesion, protecting human rights, strengthening institutions, and advancing sustainable development that meets the needs of present and future generations.
