Creative Writing II builds on foundational writing skills by advancing learners’ ability to produce imaginative, original, and well-structured literary works across genres such as poetry, drama, short stories, and creative nonfiction. It emphasizes the development of style, voice, narrative techniques, characterization, dialogue, and the effective use of literary devices, while also encouraging critical reflection, editing, and peer review to refine creative output. The course fosters deeper engagement with the creative process, helping students experiment with form and express complex ideas and emotions effectively. Course objectives include enabling learners to enhance their creative writing skills, apply advanced literary techniques, develop a distinctive writing voice, critically evaluate their own and others’ work, and produce polished, original pieces suitable for various audiences and purposes.
