This series explores how citizens engage in politics and how cultural values shape political behaviour, legitimacy, and stability. Students will examine the various forms of political participation — from voting and activism to civil society engagement — and analyze how political culture influences attitudes toward authority, democracy, and governance. It offers a deeper understanding of the relationship between ordinary citizens and the political systems they inhabit, with attention to both Western and African political contexts.
This lecture is part of POL202 Introduction to Political Analysis in the Political Science department. The course has 26 recorded lectures across 10 series, all free to watch. Read or download the POL202 lecture note to study alongside the video.
