Types and Sources of Data refer to the different forms in which information can be collected and the origins from which it is obtained. Broadly, data can be classified into qualitative (descriptive, non-numerical information such as opinions or observations) and quantitative (numerical values that can be measured and analyzed statistically). It may also be structured, like databases with organized fields, or unstructured, such as social media posts, videos, and emails. The sources of data include primary data, gathered directly through surveys, experiments, or interviews, and secondary data, obtained from existing records, publications, or online repositories. Together, these types and sources provide the foundation for effective analysis, enabling researchers and organizations to draw meaningful insights and make informed decisions.
