Network Architectures and Communication Protocols form the backbone of modern computer networking, defining how devices are structured, connected, and how they exchange information. Network architecture refers to the design and layout of a network, including its physical components, logical structure, and the way resources are organized. Common architectures include centralized client-server models, decentralized peer-to-peer systems, and layered designs such as the OSI and TCP/IP models. Communication protocols, on the other hand, are standardized rules that govern data transmission across networks, ensuring reliability, security, and interoperability between different systems. Examples include TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and SMTP, each serving specific functions like web browsing, file transfer, or email communication. Together, network architectures and protocols enable seamless connectivity, efficient resource sharing, and robust communication across local and global networks, making them essential for the functioning of the internet and enterprise systems.
