The foundations of Big Data lie in the ability to collect, store, process, and analyze massive volumes of structured and unstructured information generated at high speed from diverse sources. At its core, Big Data is defined by the "3Vs": Volume (the sheer size of data), Velocity (the speed at which data is generated and processed), and Variety (the different formats and types of data, such as text, images, videos, and sensor readings). These foundations are supported by distributed computing systems, cloud storage, and advanced analytics tools that enable organizations to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that were previously hidden. By leveraging these principles, Big Data empowers decision-making, innovation, and predictive capabilities across industries ranging from healthcare and finance to education and transportation.
