Big Data characteristics, technologies, and handling techniques form the backbone of modern data-driven systems. Big Data is defined by its “3Vs” — volume (massive amounts of data), velocity (speed of data generation and processing), and variety (different formats like text, images, and sensor data), often extended to include veracity (data accuracy) and value (usefulness). To manage these complexities, technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms provide scalable storage, distributed computing, and real-time analytics. Handling techniques involve data cleaning, integration, and transformation to ensure quality, as well as advanced analytics like machine learning and visualization to extract insights. Together, these elements enable organizations to efficiently process huge datasets, uncover patterns, and make informed decisions while maintaining performance and reliability.
