Future trends and technological aids in aircraft maintenance are reshaping the aviation industry by introducing smarter, more efficient, and safer practices. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and big data analytics are enabling predictive maintenance, where potential failures are identified before they occur, reducing downtime and costs. Advanced tools like drones and robotics are increasingly used for inspections, offering precision and speed while minimizing human risk. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are enhancing training and real-time troubleshooting by providing interactive guidance to technicians. Additionally, digital twins—virtual replicas of aircraft systems—allow continuous monitoring and simulation of performance under different conditions. These innovations, combined with automation and improved connectivity through the Internet of Things (IoT), are driving a shift toward proactive, data-driven maintenance strategies that improve reliability, safety, and sustainability in aviation operations.
