Qualitative and Spatial Data Analysis in geography combines the study of descriptive, non-numerical information with the examination of spatial patterns and relationships. Qualitative analysis focuses on meanings, experiences, and interpretations of human and environmental interactions, often using interviews, observations, or textual sources. Spatial data analysis, on the other hand, applies statistical and computational techniques to map, measure, and interpret the distribution of phenomena across space, using tools like GIS, spatial autocorrelation, and regression models. Together, these approaches provide a holistic understanding of geographical issues: qualitative methods capture the depth of social and cultural contexts, while spatial techniques reveal measurable patterns and trends. This integration is crucial for urban planning, environmental management, and regional development, ensuring that both human perspectives and spatial realities are considered in decision-making.
