Human and Cultural Landscapes refer to the visible imprint of human activity on the Earth’s surface, shaped by social, cultural, economic, and political practices. They include cities, villages, agricultural fields, transportation networks, monuments, and even symbolic spaces that reflect cultural identity and values. Unlike purely natural landscapes, these are dynamic environments where human creativity, traditions, and technologies interact with nature to produce distinctive patterns. Studying them helps us understand how societies adapt to their surroundings, express cultural heritage, and transform environments over time, making them central to the field of human geography.
