This lesson is part of EHS 212 Biostatistics, a 2-unit course designed for Environmental Health Science students. This expanded series focuses on Non-Random Sampling Methods — a critical component of research methodology in public and environmental health.
Non-random sampling refers to sampling techniques that do not give every member of a population an equal chance of being selected. These methods are widely used in health research when probability sampling is impractical, time-consuming, or cost-prohibitive.
Students will explore the theoretical foundations of non-random sampling, understand when and why it is applied in real-world health research settings, and critically evaluate its strengths and limitations.
This lecture is part of EHS212 BIOSTATISTICS in the Environmental Health Science department. The course has 35 recorded lectures across 12 series, all free to watch. Read or download the EHS212 lecture note to study alongside the video.
