System Classification and MIS Components refers to the categorization of systems based on their purpose, structure, and functionality, as well as the key elements that make up a Management Information System (MIS). Systems can be classified as open or closed systems, manual or computerized systems, and physical or abstract systems, depending on how they interact with their environment and perform their functions. Within an MIS, several essential components work together to support organizational decision-making and operations. These components include hardware (computers and devices), software (applications and programs), databases (data storage systems), procedures (rules and processes), telecommunications networks (communication channels), and people (users and IT specialists). Together, these components enable organizations to collect, process, store, and distribute information efficiently, thereby improving operational effectiveness, managerial control, and strategic planning.
