Mechanical behaviour refers to how a material responds to external forces or loads. Important mechanical properties include strength, hardness, elasticity, plasticity, ductility, brittleness, toughness, stiffness, fatigue resistance, and creep resistance. Mechanical testing is carried out to determine these properties and assess the suitability and safety of materials for engineering applications. Common tests include tensile test, compression test, hardness test, impact test, fatigue test, creep test, and bending test. These tests help engineers select appropriate materials, predict performance, detect defects, and ensure quality and reliability
