The availability of raw materials is an important factor when selecting the location of an industry. Industries should preferably be located close to reliable sources of raw materials to reduce transportation costs and ensure a steady supply. The location should also have good transport networks, adequate water supply, labour, and other necessary facilities. Energy availability is equally important, as industries require a reliable and affordable supply of electricity or fuel for production. Therefore, the availability, cost, and reliability of raw materials, location, and energy greatly influence the success and profitability of an industry.
