Introductory Geomorphology is the study of the Earth's landforms and the natural processes that create, shape, and modify them over time. It examines features such as mountains, valleys, rivers, plains, coastlines, and deserts, as well as the physical forces responsible for their formation, including weathering, erosion, deposition, tectonic activity, and volcanic processes. Geomorphology helps students understand how the Earth's surface evolves through the interaction of internal forces originating within the Earth and external forces acting upon it. By providing insights into landscape development and environmental change, the subject contributes to effective land-use planning, natural hazard management, environmental conservation, and sustainable resource development.
